Those can be archers, crossbows, muskets, rifles, whatever. Of course its not overwhelming since the scenarios are meant to be enjoyable and winnable. There is more of a balance of power strategy that the AI shoots for. The factions eye each other more and are willing to create a coalition against a single faction simply because that faction is too strong. Although the diplomacy has been a step forward. And this is understandable because Warhammer doesnt have to restrain itself to only historically inspired units and combat between humans. But it doesnt really do anything that Warhammer hasnt already done.
Three Kingdoms shines because of the legendary characters that were novelized from the Three Kingdoms history. They just want to play as their favorite past times. Three Kingdoms is mostly about charm and charisma.
